Beautiful work. I completely agree about Ted Lasso. We need that work of art in the world in 2020 to now. It reminded me that the scoreboard is not important...being true to yourself is important. If you work from your heart the score doesn’t matter. You are enough.
Also, I love hearing how you experience your work. When I make a hat the material speaks to me. I often start with a vision in my mind but the fabric wants something else so I go with it. It’s like we are creating something entirely new together. I think that’s also why I feel such respect for vintage hats because when I hold them I can feel the collaboration between the designer and the materials. It’s a magic connection.
Thank you, Austin! Yes, Ted Lasso brought some of the healing we all need, and a few welcome reminders. Being real and true is the biggest gift I can give myself, and I guess that goes for everyone in this world of AI. It's such an interesting juxtaposition!
I love hearing about how you see your collaboration with fabric, I totally get that. It's really about listening to something, and allowing for pure creativity that happens in present time only. I've been humbled many times while trying to force an image and something else wants to show up instead. It is a magic connection! Thank you.
