New painting: ‘The Forest I Remember’
This is from a series of recent small scale paintings. Small in size, big in energy!
The trees in this forest are very simple, long narrow shapes, that from this distance resemble strange beings far more than they do trees. But no matter, this is the forest I remember. Up close everything looks very different. That old expression 'you can't see the forest for the trees' comes to mind when I remember my old forest, and how I tried to see it while right in the midst of it.
Those trees used to tower over me back then, but from my new vantage point, they look very small and skinny. Now that I'm a bit further away from the old forest, I have a completely different view. Things look very different with the distance that only time gives. My perspective has changed, the old forest has something new to show me.

New painting: ‘Dream Duo’
As I was painting this piece, these benign beings showed up, ready to move through the landscape of my painting. I hadn't been expecting them - they were a total surprise, but then sometimes the best sorts of things are.
They came to me with a very peaceful energy, so I allowed them to stay. They don't talk much, and I'm not really sure how many of them there are in total. It looks to me like they are stopping along the way on their journey to who knows where. It looks like they are starting something new in a brand new (to them) place. I wish them well, and then they were on their way.

The ocean floor is set up for an evening get together and celebration. Everyone is wearing their finest ocean regalia for the evening.
Something new is being created, a new season is here - one filled with healing energy. The old heaviness has released, and the view is clear and sparkly. Inspired by the evolution of humans in the 21st century,
‘Ocean Emotion’ is about emotional healing, at a deep level. When we call out the heavy painful harmful energies of shame, despair, hatred, and more, we create deep healing within ourselves and for everyone swimming in this human ocean with us.

Beautiful work. I completely agree about Ted Lasso. We need that work of art in the world in 2020 to now. It reminded me that the scoreboard is not important...being true to yourself is important. If you work from your heart the score doesn’t matter. You are enough.
Also, I love hearing how you experience your work. When I make a hat the material speaks to me. I often start with a vision in my mind but the fabric wants something else so I go with it. It’s like we are creating something entirely new together. I think that’s also why I feel such respect for vintage hats because when I hold them I can feel the collaboration between the designer and the materials. It’s a magic connection.
