Between the Rain and the Sun, New Growth
A timely reminder to myself about the nature of trust, spirit, and new growth.
The rain and the sun work together to create the possibility for new growth to happen.
Sometimes it seems like nothing much is growing. It feels like I’m in the middle of a long dark cold winter, even if the temperature outside reads a balmy 75 degrees.
We all go through times that feel like it’s taking forever to get through them. Cloudy skies are taking over, making it difficult to trust that you are actually moving through an old way and the new is on its way. It’s already happening, but you can’t see the change or new growth just yet.
When you can’t see any actual movement in circumstances, or it’s not happening as fast as you might like, it can be hard to feel that all that work you’ve put into creating something new, is working.
What's coming might be just below the surface, or so small that we don't yet acknowledge its existence, but it's on the way. Is it all worth it anyway? you might ask.
The rain and the sun don't give up, showing up is what they do.
Sometimes there’s too much rain and the seeds wash away, or the sun is too hot and the seedlings die, but eventually there will be new growth. The trick is to persevere, trust, and allow the growth to take place.
The rain doesn't do it alone, neither does the sun. Sometimes a few things have to wash away so that there’s room for a whole new kind of growth to happen, a new way to have or be that you haven’t been able to see because you were deep in the middle of what you thought it should look like.
What if there’s room for miracles, for surprise?
What if you can allow yourself the joy of receiving a whole new level of creation in your life?
Meanwhile, the rain and the sun do their thing every day.

Some happy new growth: my studio got a makeover!
My husband has mad skills as a handyman, painter, and all the know how that makes a house work well and look pretty. And he offered to update my studio / office and make it what I want. I’m so grateful!
Here’s the studio / office update:
I’ll post more studio photos as the painting wall swings into action. My vision is to have dedicated screws in place to hold canvases against the wall while painting, ie; use the wall as my easel. I am so happy to take this step today, it’s been a long time coming to have a studio in place that works for me again!

The Lonely Hearts Hotel by Heather O’Neill is brilliant! Here it is on Goodreads.
I loved this book!
“Every day the average person will witness six miracles. But it isn’t that we don’t believe in miracles—we just don’t believe that miracles are miracles. There are so many miracles all around us.”
― Heather O'Neill, The Lonely Hearts Hotel
