Hello there! I hope this newsletter finds you well and happy in the end of the year energy.
I am doing my usual thing I do this time of year, which is to avoid the holidays altogether. I’m not anti holiday, just over the intense frenzy and toxic emotional charge that goes along with over consumption. I have lovely memories of celebrating Christmas as a child, and what I’ve kept from those memories is the magic that I feel deeply this time of year.
I feel the greatest connection to the Winter Solstice, probably even more so than the Summer Solstice. There’s a quality in this time of year that gives me the permission to go deeper within myself, and allow the new creations to gestate. I trust that they will arrive at the perfect time.
It’s all in the timing!
Whatever you celebrate this time of year, I hope you are able to also celebrate yourself. Having the space and permission to sit and be is priceless, and this time of year can give that to us.
What’s happening this week?
My BIG art sale continues through 12/31/22. All of my paintings on paper have been marked down significantly. Shop the sale
My new art podcast, ‘Making Art With Spirit’ just released episode #3, ‘Explosions’.
Listen to my latest podcast episode, ‘Explosions’:
Explosions
The ‘Explosion Series’ started off innocently enough as an exploration into ‘how do I want to paint THIS time?’.
After years of not painting, (a conscious decision on my part in which I was creating and building my psychic practice and business, which also means I was choosing to create myself in a whole new way) - it became clear to me that it was time to paint again. Of course this clarity showed up in 2020, during a world pandemic.
You know about that already, because you were there. You probably made some big changes in your life too.
What’s inspiring me this week?
‘Rare Exports’ is my favorite holiday movie!
Since we first learned about this fabulous film, my husband and I have included it in our yearly holiday movie watching rotation. It’s not your typical feel good Christmas movie, but it’s quirky, dark, and brilliant. Find it here.
Jenny Steinman at Steinman Studios is an artist friend I met many years ago. Her work is wonderful, and you can see her latest. Visit her website.
Thank you for reading. I’m wishing you a colorful and magical week!
