NEW: Let’s Get This Flower Party Started!
The lights are turned up, and everyone is here dressed in their most colorful petals and ready to dance the night away. The moths, fireflies, and all the other sparkly night creatures are on their way, and soon this place will be a joyful whirlwind of beautiful scents, sparkly jewel tones, and happy whirring sounds. The flower party makes its own music wherever it goes, the song is never exactly the same as before. You have to be there in the moment to experience the full magic!

Ethereal visitors and other inspiration
Last week we had a visit from a magnificent creature, who camped out on our front porch for a few days: a Luna Moth. She showed up one evening, just a week ago, and stayed for almost 4 days.
As an adult moth she’s only alive for 7-10 days total, and almost 4 of those days were in this exact spot on my front porch. After she arrived, I learned about her lifespan and that adult Lunas don’t possess a mouth or a digestive track, they live on the energy they stored up as caterpillars.
Of course this has my artistic brain swirling around with ideas. Just the color alone! is a source of inspiration. The size, grace, and beauty of this silent still creature, who brought so much interesting energy along with her presence, is with me still.
Other inspiration this week:
‘Strays’ is STUPID LAUGH OUT LOUD fun! Yes, it’s about cute dogs, and NO, it is NOT child friendly in the least. But it is hilarious, and helped me laugh enough to really feel it. Watch a trailer of Strays on IMDB.
Sometimes I have to get out of the studio and do things that are completely different, and this fit the bill.
The 3rd season of ‘Painting With John’ is out!
Every season, and each episode of ‘Painting With John’ is unique and so very much fun to watch. I’m a huge fan of this show, and sad to hear that this is its final season. Watch it here.
